Rock of Tears and the Ocean

Today we visited the first sacred ground, The Rock of Tears. This is located in Busan, South Korea, where Father Moon stayed after becoming a refugee from North Korea. After walking up the mountain’s steep incline, weaving our way through a narrow alley, and climbing stairs of rock and dirt, we made it. As we joined together around the Rock of Tears, we reminded ourselves of how often Father Moon had climbed this trek to pray, how he prayed not for his situation, despite being a refugee and living in a shack of mud and cardboard, but for God’s heart to be liberated and to unite the world. We all felt strongly determined to adopt the heart of caring for God and the world above our situation.

Afterward, we headed to the top of the mountain to see the harbor, where Father Moon often looked out and gained revelations about God’s situation. Father Moon observed many supply ships sent from the United States, saw the greatness of a Christian nation, and was determined to go there someday. Some GPA members offered prayers there, and then we took a group picture.

Later on, we traveled to Yeosu to visit the Ocean Resort, a beautiful getaway established by Father and Mother Moon. Despite it being a popular vacation spot, this is an area where Father Moon spent time connecting to how the ocean can help with world issues like hunger and lack of resources. It was nice to see the sea and smell the salty air after being in cities and on buses for most of this trip. Tomorrow we will head back up to Yongpyeong, and we look forward to updating you on our time there!
